PRESS RELEASE

It usually goes hand in hand that the more features you add to a product, the bigger in size it will get. However, this is not the case with the new USB uEye XS: with less than 1 cubic inch in size, this USB 2.0 camera is packed with features that until today were only available in digital still cameras designed for the consumer market. Its feature set includes…

- Autofocus lens

- Built-in DSP

- Face detection

- Image Stabilization

With an overall size of 26.5 x 23 x 23.7 mm, the USB uEye XS comes complete with an autofocus lens that has a viewing angle of 53° and can focus from 100 mm to infinity. Even during live acquisition with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD ready format) at 15 frames/sec, the uEye XS can autofocus in real-time. The images are converted to YUV color format in the camera hardware freeing up CPU resources in the host PC.

Its face detection feature can simultaneously detect up to 4 faces while returning the location and angle of each face.

The electronic image stabilizer minimizes image blur caused by camera motion and vibration. In addition, automatic internal control functions adjust settings for optimum image acquisition.

The uEye XS is available with a comprehensive software bundle that includes an SDK and drivers for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
