PRESS RELEASE

TECHSPEC® Calibration Grade Precision Aspheric Lenses

Provide the Ultimate in Off-the-Shelf Performance

Improve the efficiency of low light level detection systems

October 13, 2010, Barrington, N.J. - Edmund Optics® (EO), the premier provider of optical components, introduces its new TECHSPEC® Calibration Grade Precision Aspheric Lenses. These high NA, off-the-shelf polished aspheric lenses offer the ultimate in performance and precision technology.

Impressive aspheric surface accuracy of 0.25 µm RMS

TECHSPEC Calibration Grade Precision Aspheric Lenses offer improved aspheric surface figure, surface quality and centering specification over the company's regular precision aspheric lenses. They provide an impressive aspheric surface accuracy of 0.25 µm RMS. The uncoated lenses are available in 25 mm and 50 mm diameters, with Numerical Apertures (NAs) of 0.50 and 0.66, making them ideally suited for integration into R&D as well as OEM applications. These high NA lenses are excellent for improving the efficiency of low light level detection systems or for applications requiring a compact optical path, where space is at a premium.

Individually serialized lenses include complete metrology data package

TECHSPEC Calibration Grade Precision Aspheric Lenses are individually serialized and are offered with a complete metrology data package. This test data package includes a surface profile performed on a precision Taylor Hobson Talysurf Profilometer, an interferogram of the spherical surface, and tested values for diameter, center thickness and centration. Custom designed calibration grade precision aspheric lenses as well as coating requirements and volume pricing are available upon request. TECHSPEC Calibration Grade Precision Aspheric Lenses are in-stock and available for immediate delivery for fast turnaround and excellent value.
