Mobius expands headquarters to meet UV pulsed fiber laser demand

Mountain View, CA--In response to high backlog and to increase its manufacturing capacity, pulsed fiber laser maker Mobius Photonics has expanded its corporate headquarters.

Mountain View, CA--In response to high backlog and to increase its manufacturing capacity, Mobius Photonics, manufacturer of infrared (IR), green, and ultraviolet (UV) short-pulsed fiber laser sources for industrial and medical applications, has expanded its corporate headquarters.

"2010 was an important year for Mobius Photonics as we grew in revenue and booked a significant backlog of orders," said Red Byer, Mobius vice president of operations. "We’ve expanded our facility to help meet the additional demands to our production flow. In the near term, the new square footage allows us to accommodate increased stresses on our stockroom and higher volumes of shipping and receiving, but we are also investing in this expansion as a longer term step toward increasing our manufacturing capacity."

Mobius Photonics’ offices and manufacturing floor are housed in its almost 20,000-square-foot corporate headquarters in Mountain View, CA. Mobius uses this space to develop and produce fiber-based laser sources. Mobius has already converted some of the new square footage into stockroom and shipping and receiving space. The company plans to build out its additional manufacturing as needed.

Founded in 2005, Mobius Photonics produces fiber-based laser sources for applications ranging from materials processing for solar cell manufacturing, semiconductor fabrication and assembly, and flat-panel display manufacturing, to scientific uses such as super-resolution microscopy.
