Waltham, MA--Lighting and analytical instrumentation company Excelitas Technologies, previously the Illumination and Detection Solutions (IDS) business unit of PerkinElmer, opened a new light-emitting diode (LED) Center of Excellence at its facility in Shenzhen, People's Republic of China. The new site will serve as a base for Excelitas Technologies to develop and manufacture advanced LED-based lighting solutions and to showcase its innovations and technologies to LED customers in China.

At the Center of Excellence, Excelitas Technologies will focus on helping customers accelerate innovative and energy-efficient LED -based lighting designs for a variety of different markets, including surgical and dental lighting, hazardous area lighting, signaling, aerospace lighting, and more.
