PRESS RELEASE

Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) Polarizers Ideal for use in Harsh Environments

Highly resistant to UV radiation and chemicals

August 31, 2011, Barrington, N.J.-Edmund Optics (EO), the premier provider of optical components, introduces new Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) Polarizers. These versatile polarizers feature high contrast ratios and transmittances. They are designed for a wide variety of applications operating in the 1.5 - 5 μm wavelength range, including telecommunications, IR spectroscopy, IR sensing, and quantum cascade lasers (QCLs).

Operating temperatures of up to 120 °C

Edmund Optics' Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) Polarizers are excellent for use in harsh environments. Each of the MWIR polarizers is manufactured using a dichroic glass substrate. This durable soda lime substrate material allows the polarizer to provide high resistance to UV radiation and chemicals, as well as to withstand operating temperatures of up to 120 °C.

Available in 12.5 and 25 mm diameters

Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) Polarizers are available in 12.5 mm and 25 mm diameter models. They come mounted for easy handling and simplified system integration. Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) Polarizers are in-stock and available for immediate delivery for fast turnaround and excellent value.
