PRESS RELEASE

Spectrum Scientific, Inc. Introduces New Blazed Concave Grating

Spectrum Scientific Inc based in Irvine, California is pleased to announce it has expanded its concave gratings product line. A new blaze wavelength of 250 nm for the 1200 g/mm concave grating has been manufactured. Designed for use in analytical instruments such as UV/VIS spectrophotometers and flat field imaging spectrographs, the proprietary blazing technique maximizes the energy over the required spectral range while reducing stray light. Efficiencies greater than 80% can be achieved at the blaze wavelength without the need of ion etching. Compared to plane blazed holographic grating, concave gratings can serve as a primary dispersive and focusing element, while reducing the number of optical elements, and increasing throughput and instrument efficiency. The newly added holographic gratings are available along with Spectrum Scientific’s main line of holographic gratings, while gratings not listed can be designed to suit your specific needs.

About Spectrum Scientific Inc.
SSI manufactures the highest precision holographic gratings and replicated optical surfaces. Spectrum Scientific’s proprietary blazing technique for diffraction gratings provide 10x less stray light and significantly higher efficiency than ion etched blazed holographic gratings. Gratings are suitable for UV as low as 120nm, as well as VIS/NIR applications. SSI emerged from the former grating division of the world’s largest analytical instrument manufacturer in 2004. We offer our customers over 40 years of optics manufacturing experience; combining our ability to deliver rapid prototypes with our high fidelity replication services and offering a unique opportunity to quickly develop a custom product with high performance and high volume production. SSI’s manufacturing capabilities include holographic diffraction gratings, mirror surfaces including parabolic, ellipsoidal and hollow cube retroreflectors. Custom grating designs available upon request and welcomed. For more informations please visit www.ssioptics.com.
