DirectPhotonics’s new directdiode lasers with excellent optical brightness for advanced pumping applications Berlin, Germany – Direct Photonics has developed the direct-diode laser system DirectPump 900 which combines 600 W optical power at 976 nm, a narrow linewidth of <5nm and a wide wavelength locking range. The optical power emerges from a 200µm, NA 0.22 fiber which greatly simplifies integration into customer systems. Other fiber parameters are available upon request. The highly stable laser is locked to a customer-specific wavelength in the 9xx nm region. The system stays locked within a wide range of the laser currents and temperatures. These stable pumping conditions at very narrow excitation lines are guaranteed – even as environmental parameters change. Advanced pumping of narrow excitation lines enables new laser schemes with lower quantum defect. These benefits include higher electro-optical efficiency, shorter length of pumped fibers or crystals, and significant reduction of non-linear effects like stimulated Bragg or Raman scattering. The DirectPump 900 replaces complex solid-state and fiber laser pump sources. These new direct-diode lasers boost the performance of pulsed fiber lasers with nano, pico and femtosecond pulses with high peak power. In industrial laser manufacturing, the DirectPump 900 enables the qualification, burn-in and testing of fiber, disk and solid-state laser systems. About DirectPhotonics Industries (DPI) DirectPhotonics is focused on the development and production of ultra-high brightness diode laser systems for industrial and scientific applications. Founded in 2011, the company has their headquarters in Berlin, Germany.
