Bigger than ever, Photonics West also gives awards
San Francisco, CA--The final numbers are in for SPIE Photonics West conference and exhibition, which drew optics and photonics researchers, developers, and suppliers to San Francisco from February 2-7. Total registered attendance was 20,737, up more than 2% from last year. The exhibitions were larger--1,239 companies at Photonics West and 225 in the BiOS Expo--and there were more papers (over 4,500) in the technical programs.
There were also numerous awards given for innovative products.
Prism Awards
The prestigious Prism Awards for excellence in photonics were made in nine categories:
• Defense and Security: OEwaves for its Micro-Opto-Electronic-Oscillator (information systems on UAVs and other platforms)
