Quantel Laser has appointed Steve Patterson the CEO of its Quantel USA subsidiary.

Quantel Laser (Les Ulis, France), a maker of high-power, solid-state lasers, has appointed Steve Patterson the CEO of its Quantel USA (Bozeman, MT) subsidiary. A 9-year US Army veteran, he comes to Quantel after leading DILAS Diode Laser’s US office through growth and market expansion.

Prior to DILAS, Patterson held technical and management positions at nLight Photonics and Sharp, and has been involved in several technology startups. He holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has authored numerous technical papers, and has two patents.

The Quantel USA subsidiary, which focuses on the design and manufacture of compact, rugged pulsed YAG products, has led much of the company's growth with its products integrated into tools for semiconductor and display manufacturing, as well as instruments for LIBS, laser ablation, and PIV.
