PI names Jordan as head of photonics market segment

PI (Physik Instrumente) has appointed Scott Jordan as head of the company's Photonics Market Segment.

Photonics alignment, nanopositioning, and precision motion control systems provider PI (Physik Instrumente; Auburn, MA) has appointed Scott Jordan as head of the company's Photonics Market Segment.

Jordan, a PI Fellow, holds BS and MS degrees in physics from the University of California, Irvine, and an MBA in finance and new venture management from the University of Southern California. Jordan, who has several patents related to fast alignment techniques, was central in the development of PI's Multi-Channel Photonics Alignment System, a modular, industrial-class system that automates SiP alignments for packaging and test, operating at high speed with nanometer precision and device safety.

Jordan's seminal contributions and extraordinary record of experience and accomplishments in the field of photonics and precision motion control makes him an integral part of the company as it moves into the future.
