Scanlab to showcase 2D scan heads at SPIE Photonics West 2017

Jan. 12, 2017
The z axis system extends 2D scan heads to a 3D scan system.

The z axis system extends 2D scan heads to a 3D scan system. Based on galvanometer technology, the system's fully reflective design allows it to meet the dynamics of a 2D scan head. Focus is adjustable by moving a low-inertia mirror. Because it uses only reflective optical components, the system allows using different wavelengths without dispersion and reduces thermal lensing effects in power laser applications. Typical applications for the system include micromachining, marking of curved surfaces, deep engraving, and ultrafast 3D processing.
