VI Systems to showcase 850 nm VCSEL module for 50 Gbit/s transmission at SPIE Photonics West 2015

Jan. 28, 2015
The V50-850M transmitter for data rates of up to 50 Gbit/s is based on an 850 nm vertical cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) chip design in a high-frequency package.

The V50-850M transmitter for data rates of up to 50 Gbit/s is based on an 850 nm vertical cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) chip design in a high-frequency package. The device is fiber-coupled to multimode fiber and designed for test setups, aiming the next generation of short-reach optical interconnects. Maximum optical output power is specified at 6 dBm, and typical operating voltage is 2.4 V.
