A line of antireflective (AR) ball lenses is enabled by the company's low-pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) process.

A line of antireflective (AR) ball lenses is enabled by the company's low-pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) process, which provides AR coatings over the entire surface of the ball lens. The lenses serve as a mechanically compact optical method for collimating the output of an optical fiber or laser diode. They also have utility in fiber-to-fiber, diode-to-fiber, and fiber-to-detector coupling when access to the beam is required. Features include laser damage threshold levels up to 25 MW/cm2 (CW), a coating performance rating of R< 0.25%, and size availability from 0.25 to 10 mm.
