Glass wafers made to specification are possible with common glass substrate materials such as fused quartz, fused silica, Borofloat, B 270, N-BK7, Zerodur, ULE, and silicon, among others.

Glass wafers made to specification are possible with common glass substrate materials such as fused quartz, fused silica, Borofloat, B 270, N-BK7, Zerodur, ULE, and silicon, among others. Maximum specifications include diameters ≤450 mm, thicknesses ≥0.1 mm, thickness tolerances ±0.003 mm, and surface roughnesses ≥5 Å rms, with 45° or c-bevels available.
