First Sensor to showcase near-IR avalanche photodiodes at SPIE Photonics West 2017

Jan. 10, 2017
The Series 9.5 avalanche photodiodes feature increased sensitivity in the near-infrared (near-IR) wavelength range up to 950 nm.

The Series 9.5 avalanche photodiodes (APDs) feature increased sensitivity in the near-infrared (near-IR) wavelength range up to 950 nm. With fast rise time and very low dark current, the APDs have utility in applications with low light intensities and high modulation frequencies, such as safety scanners, 3D mapping, environmental monitoring, high-resolution lidar systems for autonomous driving, high-speed photometry, and fiber-optic communication. The APDs provide >80% quantum efficiency in the 730–930 nm range, and have the option of equipping different bandpass filters.
