Micro linear actuator delivers integrated motor and controller in tiny package

April 15, 2009
Zaber Technologies' T-NA series mirco actuators are computer controlled linear actuators with 25 and 50 mm travel and 0.05 µm resolution. The actuator comes with a hardened ball tip that can be removed to use the built-in threaded tip or flat tip. Multiple units can be daisy-chained to the RS-232 of any computer (or USB port with optional adaptor), and daisy-chained with any other T-Series products.

PRESS RELEASE

Zaber Technologies Releases New Micro Linear Actuators: T-NA Series

Zaber Technologies is happy to announce the release of its new micro linear actuator series, the T-NA.

• Integrated motor and controller in a tiny package
• Excellent thrust, speed and accuracy
• Daisy-chain and control multiple units through a single serial port

Zaber's T-NA series actuators are computer controlled linear actuators with 25 mm and 50 mm travel and 0.05 µm resolution. The actuator comes with a hardened ball tip that you can remove to use the built-in threaded tip or flat tip.

Multiple units can be daisy-chained to the RS-232 of any computer (or USB port with optional adaptor), and daisy-chained with any other T-Series products. We provide sophisticated software to make controlling Zaber devices easy. Simply select device you want to move, select a command (like move absolute), and enter the desired position. After the move, the actuator reports its new position. Built in scripting allows you to easily set up complex automation routines. We also provide all of our source code so that you can customize our software for your application.

An optional knob permits smooth manual control at variable speeds in both directions. During a manual move the actuator constantly transmits its position to computer and is displayed in the software.
