Gas Sensing Solutions CO2 detector uses mid-range IR LEDs

June 26, 2017
The SprintIR6S with multi-patented SmartIR technology detects the presence of CO2 using non-dispersive infrared absorption.

The SprintIR6S with multi-patented SmartIR technology detects the presence of CO2 using non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) absorption by sensing how much light is absorbed by CO2 molecules as light passes through the sample gases. Taking up to 20 readings/sec., it uses mid-range IR LEDs that are specifically tuned to emit at 4.2 to 4.4 µm and a single lithium cell battery.
