LM Low Modulus coatings are used in high-power cascaded cladding light strippers, and are designed to reduce stress in thermal cycling. The cascaded design includes few elements, with refractive indices of 1.47, 1.48, and 1.49. The structures enable gradual dissipation of cladding power, lowering the temperature of hot spots.
