"Axsun's lasers for OCT imaging enable the highest performance systems in ophthalmology, vascular and other medical and industrial imaging applications," explained Jonathan Hartmann, CEO of Axsun. "This significant milestone in our company's history is a testament to Axsun's technology leadership, the scalability of our manufacturing platform, and our incredible team. It is also an exciting milestone for our customers and the patients they serve with this leading edge medical imaging technology."

"Manufacturing scalability is a core strength of the Axsun packaging platform and for the company in general, something that was a key focus from the very beginning," said Peter Whitney, Axsun founder and chief science officer, "We are thrilled to have achieved this shipment milestone and look forward to further growth and cooperation with our world-class customers in the years to come."

Axsun Technologies continues to expand their portfolio of Swept Laser Engines, including its wide bandwidth 1060nm Swept laser, with 140nm tuning bandwidth. This new Swept Laser enables 3.5 micron axial resolution while providing superior speed and imaging depth over legacy OCT technologies.

Axsun Technologies, established in 1998, supplies MEMS-based optical engines for medical imaging, industrial spectroscopy, and optical telecommunications applications.
