The SpectraMax MiniMax 300 imaging cytometer from Molecular Devices (Sunnyvale, CA) enables cellular visualization and stain-free, cell-based analysis on the company's field-upgradable SpectraMax i3 multimode microplate reader. Brightfield- and fluorescence-based green and red channel cellular image acquisition and analysis uses the system's SoftMax Pro software workflow. A StainFree cell detection algorithm enables cell confluency and cell counting measurements on an imaging plate reader without requiring destructive stains.
