Fianium supercontinuum laser for flow cytometry and spectroscopy
The SC450-8-VE supercontinuum laser from Fianium (Southampton, England) offers over 8 W of total optical power and over 1.5 W in the visible wavelength range. Average visible brightness of more than 5 mW/nm makes the laser useful for flow cytometry, industrial inspection, fluorescence imaging and broadband spectroscopy. The full spectrum extends from <450 nm to >2000 nm, and fixed and variable repetition rate versions are available.

PRESS RELEASE
The World’s Brightest White Light Laser
12 Jan 2011
The new Fianium SC450-8-VE is the most powerful supercontinuum laser commercially available with over 8W of total optical power and a spectrum optimised to provide the maximum visible light. With over 1.5W in the visible wavelength range, in a single-mode beam, the system sets the new standard for white light sources across a range of applications.
An average visible brightness of more than 5mW/nm makes this system useful for the most demanding applications requiring high power visible light such as flow cytometry, industrial inspection, fluorescence imaging and broadband spectroscopy. The full spectrum extends from less than 450nm to greater than 2000nm and the system is available in fixed and variable repetition rate versions for ultimate flexibility. With the variable repetition rate option, the source is perfectly suited to both lifetime studies and steady state measurements.
The all-fiber design is robust, modular and upgradable and uses an industry-ready 19” rack-mount chassis equally suitable for OEM and laboratory applications. As with all Fianium products the SC450-8-VE is a turn-key system and no user alignment, maintenance or adjustment is required. In addition the laser is compatible with the full range of Fianium plug-and-play accessories, including the new high power AOTF-HP tunable filter module.
