sCMOS camera for fluorescence microscopy by Hamamatsu
The ORCA-Flash4.0 scientific CMOS (sCMOS) camera from Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. (Hamamatsu, Japan) delivers 100 fps at full resolution (2048 × 2048) for fluorescence microscopy and other high-speed imaging applications. Features include over 70% quantum efficiency at 600 nm, 6.5 × 6.5 µm pixel size, and an exposure time range of 9.7 µs to 10 s. Readout at 25,600 fps with a small region of interest is possible.

PRESS RELEASE
Hamamatsu to release new scientific CMOS camera ORCA-Flash4.0 for fluorescence microscopy and other applications
Hamamatsu, Japan – November 29, 2011 – Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. has developed a new scientific CMOS camera, the ORCA-Flash4.0, which offers exceptional performance for a wide variety of fluorescence microscopy and other applications. The ORCA-Flash4.0 provides higher sensitivity, higher resolution, faster readout speed with lower noise, and higher dynamic range than previous models. It will be released on December 1, 2012.
The ORCA-Flash4.0 will be exhibited at three events in December: at the American Society for Cell Biology Annual Meeting (Denver, Colorado, USA; December 3 to 7), at the International Technical Exhibition on Image Technology and Equipment 2011 (Pacifico Yokohama, Japan; December 7 to 9), and at the 34th Annual Meeting of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan (Pacifico Yokohama, Japan; December 13 to 16).
