PicoQuant intros fluorescence lifetime imaging and correlation software

Feb. 14, 2011
The SymPhoTime version 5.2.4 fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) and correlation software from PicoQuant supports data acquisition and analysis for up to eight detection channels.

The SymPhoTime version 5.2.4 fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM) and correlation software from PicoQuant (Berlin, Germany) supports data acquisition and analysis for up to eight detection channels. Measurement preview functions enable display of time-correlated single-photon counting (TCSPC) histograms and intensity time traces for each channel separately during measurements. Online FLIM features of the software offer scalable intensity and lifetime color code.

PicoQuant releases new version of SymPhoTime software

The version 5.2.4 of the fluorescence lifetime imaging and correlation software
SymPhoTime is introduced along with a new discussion forum

Berlin (Germany), 14 February 2011 – PicoQuant GmbH, specialist in Single Photon Counting Applications has released the new SymPhoTime software version 5.2.4. The fluorescence lifetime imaging and correlation software now supports the eight channel configuration of PicoQuant's TCSPC system HydraHarp 400 and therefore data acquisition and analysis for up to eight detection channels. Along with the release of the new SymPhoTime version, PicoQuant has started a dedicated user discussion forum on the internet.

Another enhancement of the new SymPhoTime version is the extension of the measurement preview functions. It is now possible to display TCSPC histograms as well as intensity time traces for each channel separately during the measurements. This is especially interesting in e.g. FRET measurements as it permits to directly monitor changes in the fluorescence intensity of donor and acceptor during the data acquisition. The “online-FLIM” features of the software have also been improved by adding a scalable intensity and lifetime colour code. This permits to increase image contrast and thus a quick assessment of image quality already during the measurement.

The new “SymPhoTime forum” is especially targeted at discussions and support about the scripting language STUPSLANG of the SymPhoTime software. However, support on other software functions or discussions about the scientific background are welcome. The forum can be reached at http://forum.picoquant.com

The SymPhoTime software package is designed to analyse Time-Tagged Time-Resolved (TTTR) measurement data acquired with the TimeHarp 200, PicoHarp 300 or HydraHarp 400 TCSPC units from PicoQuant. It is also the operation and analysis software of the confocal microscope MicroTime 200 as well as the upgrade kit for laser scanning microscopes. SymPhoTime is designed for integration of a broad range of algorithms and methods for the analysis of fluorescence dynamics users may require.
