The Syncerity spectroscopy camera from Horiba Scientific (Edison, NJ) features a 1024 × 256 charge-coupled device (CCD) detector TE-cooled to -60ºC for UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy applications. Specifications include a 45 kHz scan speed, dynamic range of 92.5 dB in image mode, low readout noise, and nonlinearity of <0.4%. The camera's open-electrode CCD technology provides quantum efficiency of 33% at 250 nm and 50% at 800 nm, and eliminates etaloning in the NIR region.

The Syncerity’s ultra compact size is designed for compatibility with microscopes and OEM integration. At its slow scan speed of 45 kHz, this -60ºC detector offers unmatched dynamic range (92.5 dB in image mode) and has the lowest readout noise and non-linearity (< 0.4%) in its cooling class. In addition, its open electrode CCD technology offers broad spectral coverage with QE of 33% at 250 nm and 50% at 800 nm, and provides a lower cost alternative to eliminating the ill effects of etaloning in the near IR region, which traditionally required the use of expensive deep depletion CCD sensors.
