In two recent studies published in JAMA Dermatology, two separate teams of researchers found that reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) is the best imaging method for identifying skin cancer lesions on the head and neck because of its diagnostic accuracy. Sensitivity and specificity were 95.3 and 83.9%, respectively.
