Five-line solid-state laser combiner from Andor

Jan. 6, 2009
An upgrade to Andor Technology's (Belfast, Northern Ireland) Revolution microscopy systems, the compact, modular ALC-500 Solid State Laser Combiner now offers up to five solid state laser lines. It covers the visible spectrum from 400 to 650 nm, making it suitable for applications such as photo-activation, confocal and TIRF microscopy. Its MPU (multi-port switch) enables such possibilities as core components for multi-modal microscopy systems.

Energy efficient, the fully loaded combiner consumes only a few hundred watts and operates in a standard laboratory environment.

First introduced in 2005, the goal of the solid state laser combiner technology was to provide a small footprint (physical, electrical and environmental) and modular design for flexibility and best-in-class performance.
