Joint venture service analyzes medical images produced by OCT, other modalities

OCTOBER 7, 2008 -- An international group of companies and individuals has formed a joint venture it is calling imaeon. The new company, operating from India and Belgium, will provide analysis of medical images -- derived from optical coherence tomography (OCT) and other technologies -- for clinical research projects in the pharmaceutical, biomedical and medical device industries.

OCTOBER 7, 2008 -- An international group of companies and individuals -- Vibgyor Scientific Research (India), genae associates (Antwerp, Belgium), Cardiovascular Center Aalst (Aalst, Belgium) and J.B. Dahm, MD (Gottingen, Germany) -- has formed a joint venture called imaeon. The new company will provide analysis of medical imagery -- derived from optical coherence tomography (OCT) and several other technologies (quantitative coronary and peripheral angiography, computed tomography angiography, intravascular ultrasound and IVUS-related techniques, for instance) -- for clinical researchers.

The joint venture promises expert evaluations of medical scans and quality clinical research services for customers in the pharmaceutical, biomedical and medical device industries. It will operate from its headquarters facilities and offices in Ahmedabad, India and from its office in Antwerp, Belgium.

The four partners include Cardiovasculair Onderzoek Aalst, which provides consultancy assignments and logistics support related to scientific research and scientific studies for physicians, hospitals, universities, pharmaceutical institutions, governments and governmental institutions. A second partner, genae associates nv, is a privately held NV/SA that is ISO 9001:2000 certified for CRO, core laboratories and services provider for the medical industries. Its services include clinical data management, electronic data capture (EDC), statistical analysis, scientific and medical writing, CE-marking (MDD) and training and education.
