PRESS RELEASE

BAYSPEC INTRODUCES DEEP-COOLED InGaAs CAMERA/DETECTOR LINE

Low Light Detection, Enabling Practical Use of NIR Spectrometers and Raman Analyzers

San Jose, CA-- BaySpec, Inc., a leader in affordable spectral engines for small and large molecular sample identification, today announced the NunavutTM InGaAs Camera/Detector Line enabling low light spectroscopy in the near-infrared region. Optimal cooling of the detector arrays allows for greatly improved low-light spectral measurements, offering an improvement of >250x signal/noise performance.

Key Features:

  • Covers wavelength ranges: InGaAs: 900-1700, 1100-2200, and 1250-2500nm
  • Real-time spectral data acquisition
  • Long-life time operation
  • Hermetic/Vacuum-sealing ensures reliable operation in harsh environments
  • "Soft" cooled to -20°C, or Deep air cooling to -55°C (Water cooling optional to -90°C)
  • Single 5 volt power supply design
  • Affordable pricing

The NunavutTM InGaAs Detector Line, is available in 900-1700nm, 1100-2200nm and 1250-2500nm linear array configurations. Each camera is calibrated in the factory after extensive thermal cycling. The control electronics read out the processed digital signal to extract required information. Both the raw data and the processed data are available to the host.

The Nunavut is a perfect complement to SuperGamutTM NIR or Raman spectrometers enabling fast/high-throughput, cost effective low-light spectroscopy. Benefiting from experience manufacturing high-volume optical devices for the telecommunications industry, with over 15,000 InGaAs spectral engines in the field, BaySpec’s InGaAs cameras utilize low-cost field proven components. For the first time in instrumentation history an affordable, accurate and ruggedized spectral detector is a reality.
