Supercontinuum-powered spectrofluorometers make their debut
Horiba Scientific (Edison, NJ) has incorporated into its spectrofluorometers a line of white-light lasers from NKT Photonics (Birkerød, Denmark). Under the mutually exclusive agreement, Horiba has fully integrated NKT Photonics' SuperK EXTREME lasers into its software and hardware, and will globally sell the combined product as a fully supported system. This marks the first time that a supercontinuum laser has been seamlessly integrated into a commercial spectrofluorometer.
The combined system enables high power in the near-infrared (NIR) and gap-free wavelength tunability for time-correlated single-photon-counting (TCSPC) measurements, says Steve Slutter, president of Horiba Scientific.
