Canon biomedical imaging laboratory opens in Massachusetts

    Canon USA opened its Healthcare Optics Research Laboratory in Cambridge, MA, which will be home to employees dedicated to developing biomedical optical imaging and medical robotics technologies.

    Canon USA (Melville, NY) opened its Healthcare Optics Research Laboratory in Cambridge, MA, which will be home to employees dedicated to developing biomedical optical imaging and medical robotics technologies. The end goal is to bring to market medical devices for a variety of applications.

    Technology areas include cardiovascular disease detection, brain-functional imaging, robotics-assisted surgery, and miniature endoscopy. The company is working in conjunction with its parent company, Canon Inc., on this endeavor.

    The lab, which is approximately 13,600 sq. ft., is located at 210 Broadway, Third Floor, Cambridge, MA 02139.
