Lumenis Ltd.'s (Yokneam, Israel; NASDAQ: LMNS) new laser hair removal systems—LightSheer Infinity and LightSheer Desire—are up to 75% faster than competing products, and provide efficacy and patient comfort through the use of proprietary technologies. One emphasizes value while the other is customizable to skin tone.

LightSheer Desire laser hair removal system

The price-conscious, portable, and upgradable Desire model lets owners add new capabilities as their practice grows. The user interface was specifically designed to enable quick learning and delegation of treatment.

LightSheer Infinity laser hair removal system

Promising “unrivaled power and versatility,” on the other hand, the advanced Infinity model features offers a choice of two wavelengths to treat the broadest range of skin types: 805 nm is best for a wide scope of lighter all skin tones, while 1060 nm effectively treats darker skin. E. Victor Ross, MD, of the Scripps Clinic (San Diego, CA) said that because the longer wavelength prevents overheating of the treatment area on more heavily pigmented skin, it “represents one of the most significant recent advances in hair removal.”
