PhotonicsNEXT Summer Summit to present top 7 trends in photonics

June 4, 2021
The PhotonicsNEXT Summer Summit for emerging applications and technologies is a unique two-day event focused on scientific advances, photonics R&D, and application solutions—it will take place June 23-24, 2021.

I'd like to personally invite you to take part in two immersive days of learning on June 23rd and June 24th. Dubbed the PhotonicsNEXT Summer Summit, this unique two-day event focuses on scientific advances, photonics R&D, and application solutions. To kick off the event each day, Dr. Jose Pozo of EPIC (European Photonics Industry Consortium) will present a must-see keynote entitled, “Top 7 Trends in Photonics 2021: From Industrial Manufacturing to Quantum Computing.

Over the last year, Pozo has seen many innovations in the photonics industry, including optical telecommunications, photovoltaics, lighting, displays, laser manufacturing, medical optics, and machine vision, as well as freeform and micro-optics. Pozo will cover these topics and identify business opportunities for the audience. In his two-part presentation, Pozo will identify business opportunities in these key areas of the photonics industry:

  • Automotive. How lidar technologies and single-photon avalanche diodes are changing the industry.
  • Medical. How quickly evolving tools and supply chains are impacting the regulatory environment and reducing time-to-market.
  • Mid-infrared range technologies. How quantum cascade lasers are enabling new mid-infrared applications from security to environmental monitoring.
  • Laser welding. The impact of green wavelengths on laser welding of copper.
  • Quantum computing. How quantum technologies are advancing quantum computing and impacting gravimeters and atomic clocks.

This presentation will continue at the start of day 2 of the PhotonicsNEXT Summer Summit. I hope you will join me there. Please register today.
