Canon Medical completes acquisition of Toshiba's Imaging Systems Division
The Video Sensing Division of Canon Medical Systems USA (Tustin, CA) announced that Canon Medical will complete its acquisition of the Video Sensing Division (VSD), formerly known as TAIS' (Toshiba America Information Systems') Imaging Systems Division (ISD), effective Oct. 1, 2019. Globally, the professional video camera business has been integral to the Japan-based Canon Medical organization since October 2016.
Paul Dempster, director of sales at Video Sensing Division, notes, "We are delighted to be part of the team at Canon Medical. Our customers will continue to have access to the great products, service, and support they've become accustomed to. The distribution and authorized service providers for VSD products will remain the same. Additionally, manufacturing and quality inspection systems are not changing, so the product quality, availability, and product performance will continue to be of the highest caliber."
The new corporate name and address will be: Canon Medical Systems USA, Video Sensing Division, 2441 Michelle Drive, Tustin, CA 92780. For more information about VSD's product portfolio and areas of application, go to www.us.medical.canon/VSD.
The Video Sensing Division will complement Canon's long and well-regarded history as a video camera technology leader by focusing on serving the healthtech market as an OEM supplier in surgical imaging robotics and clinical microscopy. The VSD product line services a market niche not met through other Canon video technology.
