CMOS image sensor detects individual light photons

July 5, 2021
The CMOS-based image sensors use patented sensor architecture and pixel design to detect individual light photons.

The 16-Mpixel GJ01611 image sensor uses a 1.1 µm pixel for room-temperature 0.19 e- read noise and <0.09 electron/sec/pixel dark current, while the 4 Mpixel GJ00422 employs a 2.2 µm pixel and provides 0.27 e- read noise with single-exposure high dynamic range of 100 dB. CMOS-based Quanta image sensor products use patented sensor architecture and pixel design to detect individual light photons.
