A fully automatic optical ferrule test system, the FMS-5200, measures inner diameter, concentricity, circularity, and noncircularity. The turnkey system offers measurement repeatability of less than ۪.1 µm and measurement speeds of less than 15 s. The system uses a 2-D CCD camera and a measurement technique that allows subpixel measurements.
