Bright, 10-W compact metal-halide lamp
Solarc is a bright, durable, battery-powered metal-halide lamp suited for applications in bicycling, underwater diving, and professional flashlights. This new device consists of a lamp and ballast housed in a single package, which measures 55 x 35 x 35 mm and weighs 63 grams. It features an output of 13,000 candlepower and projects a bluish-white light, rather than the comparative yellow emitted by equivalent halogen sources. The 10-W device requires 12.8-V input and features a 1000-h lifetime. The developers kit consists of five metal-halide lamps, a power supply, instruction sheet, and a CD-ROM containing lamp technical specifications.
