QD maker Quantum Materials enters joint development agreement with 'leading global display manufacturer'

July 29, 2015
Collaborators to develop next-generation quantum-dot-based display technologies.

Quantum Materials (San Marcos, TX; OTCBB: QTMM) has entered a joint development agreement (JDA) with what the company says is "one of the world's leading manufacturers of display panels"; the two companies will be working together to develop next-generation quantum-dot QD)-based display technologies. Terms and specifics of the agreement were not disclosed.

The company recently achieved heat resistance to 260°C for its QDX quantum dots, allowing for high-temperature film application and encapsulation in resins, silicones, and other polymers.

Quantum Materials develops and manufactures QDs and nanomaterials for use in display, lighting, medical, and solar energy through its patented continuous-flow production process. Quantum Materials says it has more than 2000 kg of current annual production capacity. Its QDs are the foundation for ultrahigh-definition liquid-crystal displays (LCDs), the next generation of solid-state lighting, solar photovoltaic power applications, advanced battery and energy storage systems, biotech imaging, and theranostics (the integration of therapeutics and diagnostics). Solterra Renewable Technologies is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Quantum Materials.
