Photron to display high-speed CMOS imaging system at SPIE DSS 2014

April 28, 2014
The FASTCAM SA-Z high-speed CMOS imaging system delivers 21,000 frames/s at megapixel resolution, with the ability to deliver 2,000,000 frames/s at reduced resolution.

The FASTCAM SA-Z high-speed CMOS imaging system delivers 21,000 frames/s at megapixel resolution, with the ability to deliver 2,000,000 frames/s at reduced resolution. Its global electronic shutter operates from 1 ms down to 159 ns to freeze fast motion without blur. Additional specifications include 12-bit pixel depth and a 20 µm2 pixel format for situations in which the camera needs to rotate without sacrificing image resolution. Applications include ballistics, plasma and arc studies, materials science, fluidics, velocimetry, shock waves, and detonics applications.
