Photron USA to showcase polarization camera at SPIE Photonics West 2019

Jan. 25, 2019
The CRYSTA polarization camera utilizes a micropolarizer array atop a 1 Mpixel high-speed CMOS sensor to record two-dimensional birefringence retardation.

The CRYSTA polarization camerautilizes a micropolarizer array atop a 1 Mpixel high-speed CMOS sensor to record two-dimensional birefringence retardation in transparent or semitransparent materials and fluids at speeds up to 1.3 million fps. The micropolarizer array is bonded directly to the camera's 20 µm square pixels and the polarized pixels are clustered in groups of four, each having a different fast axis orientation of 0°, 45°, 90°, and 135° in a clockwise direction.
