The Falcon III digital camera incorporates a new CCD351 EMCCD sensor, which offers 1Mpixel resolution with 10 µm square pixels. A back-illuminated sensor offers a peak quantum efficiency of >95%, offering sensitivity with a total noise floor as low as 0.01 e- readout noise.
