Assembling a telescope with metering structures and optics made from the same material is considered to be the "holy grail" of material configurations. Using Entegris SUPERSiC® materials for both structures and mirrors can help engineers achieve optimal performance by eliminating errors caused by mismatched properties. Space-based applications, in particular, benefit from the low coefficient of thermal expansion and high stiffness inherent in SUPERSiC materials. This material is highly deterministic and allows for fast alignment and assembly.
