Highland Technology has introduced the model J270, a tiny – only 2" x 3" – very fast, high-voltage, nanosecond pulse generator.

The J270 allows users to manually set trigger delay, pulse width, and pulse voltage. Timing can be set in three ranges, 25ns, 250ns, and 2.5µs; pulse voltage can be set from 0.8 to 20 volts, with a 44-volt version available. Outputs are very clean over the full amplitude range, with rise and fall times typically 1 nanosecond and jitter below 10 picoseconds RMS. The product includes trigger loop-through and pulse monitor connectors.

The J270 can drive PIN diodes, optical modulators, bar lasers, SiC mosfet gates, long cables in timing/trigger systems, and microchannel plate gates.
