Enhanced Spectra-Physics Ultra-Narrow Linewidth LasersLead Industry in Power and Tuning Range
Andover, MA – April 25, 2022 – MKS Instruments, Inc.(NASDAQ: MKSI) announces new additions and updates to its Spectra-Physics® lasers for Quantum applications. The Matisse® C High-power Ultra-narrow Linewidth Tunable Laser is updated with a new option for an unprecedented 400 nm hands-free tuning range, and the company is introducing the new WaveTrain® 3D Dext-generation Digh-power CW (continuous-wave) Doubler. The combination of the updated Matisse C with WaveTrain 3D is the most capable and powerful ultra-narrow linewidth UV-to-visible tunable laser platform, with automated tuning from 335-525 nm, output powers up to >2.5 W UV and linewidths down to <40 kHz. The new extended-tuning Velocity® tunable diode lasers almost double the tuning range of standard models. These new industry-leading laser systems are ideal for demanding Quantum, atomic, molecular, optical (AMO) physics, photonic integrated circuit (PIC), holography, interferometry and metrology applications."Our new ultra-narrow linewidth tunable laser additions deliver the high powers and wavelength ranges needed for the latest developments in Quantum,"
says Herman Chui, Senior Director of Marketing for the Light & Motion Division of MKS.
"With tunable lasers, tapered amplifiers, harmonic generators, opto-electronics, photonics components and vacuum products, MKS offers the broadest portfolio of industry-leading solutions for Quantum."The Matisse C laser with the new BBE-OPT option enables 668-1068 nm hands-free tuning with up to >7.2 W output power and down to <20 kHz linewidths. The new WaveTrain 3D doubler can convert the Matisse C laser input from 670-1050 nm wavelength range to 335-525 nm with up to >2.5 W in the UV. This newly redesigned WaveTrain 3D doubler platform features fully digital electronics with touchscreen and optional GUI computer interface. The sealed design enables inert gas purging for long-term power stability and acoustic noise resistance. Unlike conventional bow-tie cavities, WaveTrain 3D doubler is based on a patented triangle-shaped cavity configuration, which allows the cavity length to be adjusted without affecting output beam position, pointing or astigmatism. All mirror mounts and other optics are directly bolted to the baseplate, for excellent long-term stability.
The new extended-tuning Velocity Tunable Diode Lasers provide up to 130 nm mode-hop-free tuning range for gapless coverage of key wavelengths for microcavity resonators and other Quantum and PIC applications.
The enhanced Matisse C laser, new WaveTrain 3D doubler, and new extended-tuning Velocity laser will be featured at Laser World of Photonics, Messe München, Munich, Germany, April 26-29, 2022. Please visit MKS at booth A6.219 for a demonstration.
