Novanta presents the Chameleon, a multifunctional 3D scan head with two independent beam paths. It is usable for very complex laser-based multi processes where two different laser sources are required. Either with the same wavelength but different pulse characteristics or with widely differing wavelengths. Therefore it can handle two completely different processes, e.g. large-area preheating and welding or ablation. Especially in the field of automotive a high effective microstructuring process, for example the hairpin stripping or processing of CFK components, is of great importance. Coupled with our OCT or a pyrometer the Chameleon provides integrated diagnostics, like measuring coating thicknesses or temperature. Furthermore it is connectable to a wide variety of robotic systems.
