Technoteam, Trioptics enter strategic development partnership

March 30, 2021
The two companies will combine their measurement competencies, with the goal of developing a measuring system that integrates both measuring processes in one device.

Many manufacturers from the consumer electronics and automotive industries depend on analyzing the imaging quality of their display products—for example, virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR) headsets and head-up displaysin various aspects in detail. Both photometric properties (color and luminance) and imaging properties (modulation transfer function and distortion) must be characterized in combination.

Recognizing this, TechnoTeam (Ilmenau, Germany) and Trioptics (Wedel, Germany) will combine their measurement competencies in a strategic partnership, with the goal of developing a measuring system that integrates both measuring processes in one device.

TechnoTeam has its core competence in the field of spatially resolved light and color measurement technology, while Trioptics supplies modulation-transfer-function (MTF) measurement systems. For the measurement of projectors, headsets, head-up displays, and displays, both are very important and a combination of both measurement techniques in one device offers production advantages for customers.

The measurement devices developed in the collaboration will enable both companies customers to significantly increase the quality of their products, such as the imaging quality of future AR/VR headsets, explains Udo Krüger, Managing Director of TechnoTeam, about the expectations of the new partnership.
