Salvo Technologies acquires Kreischer Optics

May 5, 2021
The acquisition expands Salvo Technologies’ offering to customers, adding complementary optical fabrication capabilities.

Salvo Technologies (Seminole, FL), a technology-based holding company, has acquired Kreischer Optics (McHenry, IL), which manufactures complex optical components used in the semiconductor, medical imaging, entertainment, defense & security, and metrology industries. The acquisition, which is official as of April 27, 2021, increases Salvo Technologies’ manufacturing base, adding complementary asphere and complex optical fabrication capabilities.

Former Kreischer president Barry Tyler has been named the Director of Optical Fabrication Salvo Corporate and president of Kreischer Optics, a division of Salvo Technologies.

This acquisition, which falls on the heels of the Arrow Thin Films acquisition, boosts Salvo Technologies overall strategy of creating a vertically integrated precision optical components group, explains John Dougherty, VP of Sales at Salvo Technologies. The company also recently invested in new CNC optical manufacturing equipment and coating platforms, he adds.
