FiberCore forms joint venture to manufacture optical fiber in Asia

Two Malaysian companies, PNB Equity Resource Corp. and Federal Power, signed an agreement with FiberCore Inc. (Charlton, MA) to establish a joint-venture firm that will manufacture optical fiber and optical-fiber preforms in Malaysia. FiberCore will own the majority interest in the venture, which is estimated to have a total capitalization of $60 million. The company will be located in Malaysia`s new Multimedia Super Corridor.
