A four-port 1310/1550-nm add/dro¥wavelength-division-multiplexer coupler is based on the company`s fused-biconic-taper technology. The coupler allows access to the 1310-nm signal on a 1310/1550-nm multiplexed fiber channel. The 1310-nm signal is demultiplexed and dropped from one port, while a regenerated or new 1310-nm signal can be added into another port for multiplexing back onto the channel. The company can supply add/dro¥couplers at customer-specified wavelengths. The couplers are
