Planar waveguide components

Aug. 1, 1995
Fiberoptic planar waveguide splitters are available with split counts from two to 32. The 6 ¥ 22.5 ¥ 70-mm devices are readily installed into most common splice trays and offer high directivity and return loss 60 dB. Insertion loss for the 1 ¥ 16 unit is less than 14.3 dB over the 1260-1360-nm and 1480-1580-nm ranges specified. Dual inputs are optional. The components have been tested under many vibration, load, and environmental conditions.
