Cambridge, UK, May 14, 2002 -- Available from Moritex Europe is the MS-500B Micro-Scopeman an affordable, high-resolution video inspection tool suitable for both real-time industrial micro-inspection and quality assurance tasks.

The flexible handheld probe incorporates both high resolution (752 x 582 pixel) CCD camera head and fiber optic lighting for fast and simple acquisition with unrivalled depth-of-field. The handheld Micro-Scopeman provides a magnified image of an object on a TV or video monitor simply by pointing at the target thus eliminating the eyestrain so common with regular use of optical microscopes. The convenient design of the Micro-Scopeman greatly enhances the ease and versatility of microscopic examination as any sample may be observed in-situ. With few adjustments required to provide the full range of operation, learning to use the Micro-Scopeman effectively may be accomplished rapidly.

A range of rapidly interchangeable fixed magnification and various zoom (5x - 1000x) lenses are available to suit most contact and contact micro-inspection applications including shop floor inspection/ quality assurance, in situ restoration/ conservation, forensic analysis, customs inspection and on-site inspection of plant and process equipment.

The Micro-Scopeman produces a color (460 TV lines) real time video image that can be viewed directly on a monitor or captured by a video printer or computer for hardcopy printing and analysis. Options for the Micro-Scopeman include automatic light intensity control and a separate strobe light for capturing very fast moving objects.
